Refund Policy

Overview
This Refund Policy outlines the terms under which AskShelf, a product of Datahase Dev Private Limited (“DataHase,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), provides refunds for its subscription-based services. All payments are processed through Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, who handles payment processing, invoicing, and refund disbursement on our behalf.
Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your AskShelf subscription at any time through your account settings in the platform dashboard. Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period (monthly or annual).
- You retain full access to all features and data until the billing period ends.
- No further charges will be applied after the current period.
- Your product data, analytics, and transcriptions remain available for 30 days after the subscription ends, during which you can export your data.
Refund Eligibility
Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscription payments are generally non-refundable. Since you can cancel at any time and your subscription continues until the end of the billing period, partial-month refunds are not provided.
However, we may issue a refund for the current month if:
- You were charged in error (e.g., duplicate payment, incorrect amount)
- The platform experienced a significant, prolonged outage that materially prevented you from using the service during the billing period
- You contact us within 7 days of the charge and have not substantially used the service during that period
Annual Subscriptions
For annual subscriptions, the following refund terms apply:
- Within 30 days of purchase: Full refund available if you are not satisfied with the service, provided you have not exceeded 20% of your monthly AI voice minute allocation.
- After 30 days: Prorated refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for the remaining unused months, at our discretion.
Plan Changes
If you downgrade your subscription plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. No refund is issued for the difference in the current period. If you upgrade your plan, you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, you may:
- Email us at contact@askshelf.com with the subject line “Refund Request” and include your account email, the charge date, and the reason for your request.
- Contact us through the platform dashboard under Settings → Billing → Support.
We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 2 business days and provide a resolution within 5 business days.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed through Dodo Payments and returned to the original payment method used for the transaction. Please note:
- Refunds typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refunds are issued in the original currency of the transaction.
- Any applicable taxes collected on the original transaction will also be refunded.
Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for refunds:
- AI voice minutes that have already been consumed during the billing period
- Overage charges for AI voice minutes used beyond your plan allocation (these are billed based on actual usage)
- Subscription periods where the service was available and functional, but you chose not to use it
- Charges resulting from failure to cancel before a renewal date (we send renewal reminders via email)
Disputes
If you believe a charge is unauthorized or incorrect, please contact us at contact@askshelf.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We are committed to resolving billing disputes promptly and fairly. In most cases, we can resolve issues faster than the chargeback process.
Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending investigation.
